Virus: small software program that attaches itself to other programs and runs with the program it is attached to.
Boot sector virus: a virus that infects the first sector of a floppy disk or hard drive.
File Virus: add their own code to files.
Macro virus: virus that causes unwanted actions to happen and is often spread by e-mail.
Trojan Horse: computer program that claims to do something but instead damages the computer.
Time bomb: not a real virus just something people made up to scare new computer users.
Worm: uses security holes and computer networks to duplicate its self.
Logic bomb: a virus that doesn't work untill something specific is activated.
Attachments: viruses that are attached to e-mail
Virus prevention: do not open anything from and unknown source, delet chain e-mail and junk mail, back up your files on a regular basis.
